Nestled within a cliff overlooking the sea and adjoining valley, this project aims to negotiate between the dramatic landscape of coastal sand dunes and the built environment. Composed of white fair-faced concrete, the architecture echoes the existing topography and is typified by a layering of terraces, and a-symmetrical columns that rise from the sand dunes to support the structure. As is often the case with waterfront projects, the desire to maximize sea view was a primary concern in designing this complex and challenging apartment building.
