ANGEL WINGS RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT PHASE: A
| Location: Wroclaw | Category: Urban – New build – Residential – mixed use | Size: 130,000SQM all phases, phase A 30,000SQM | Status: Phase A Completed 2011 Located just beyond the heart of the city of Wroclaw, Angel Wings was typified by neglected industrial buildings, dispersed and fractured construction, total lack of vegetation, desolate sites and discarded waste. What was in essence a potentially attractive riverfront location was obscured by high, graffiti covered walls and containers of garbage. Benefiting from a long river frontage and a critical mass, the site offered the opportunity to rejuvenate not only the specific site but the surrounding neglected and abandoned urban areas. At the core of the scheme is the notion of a new urban vision, one that celebrates contemporary architecture, mixed use programming, increased density and open public areas. The plan maximizes the river views, incorporates retail and leisure facilities along a new water front promenade that links the development to the historic city.
